- Disasters happen whether we are prepared for them to or not. Fires, floods, hurricanes, are all a part of life. Insurance Agencies
invites you to consider your greatest asset, your home. More than ever, quality homeowners insurance is an absolute necessity. Without it, an accident or natural disaster could mean financial ruin to you or your family.

-
- You can buy a dwelling policy that covers only the structure of your house. Or, like most Texans who own their homes, you can
buy a homeowners insurance policy, which combines five different types of coverage:
-
- Dwelling - pays for damage to your house and any outbuildings, such as detached garages and storage sheds. This is the structure of your home, including the roof. The amount of coverage should be the "insurance replacement cost" which is the amount needed to rebuild the structure. All insurance companies are required to furnish an estimate of how much it would cost to rebuild a home, based on the current cost of labor and materials in the zip code area where the home is located.
-
- Personal property - a homeowners insurance policy pays when household items, including furniture, clothing and appliances,
are damaged, stolen, or destroyed by a covered peril.
-
- Liability - protects you against financial loss if you are found legally responsible for someone else's injury or property
damage. A homeowners insurance policy automatically provides $25,000 in coverage. You can buy more coverage for an extra premium.
-
- Medical payments - A homeowners insurance policy pays medical bills for people hurt while on your property. It also pays
for some injuries that happen away from your home, such as your dog biting someone. A basic homeowner's policy pays $500 in medical
bills. You can buy more coverage for an extra premium.
-
- Loss of use - pays living expenses if your home is too damaged to live in during repairs.
-
- Please be aware the amount of coverages on each item listed above is based on the description of the coverages in the individual
homeowners insurance policy issued to you.
